PLANTS OF THE PERFUMER, SHADES OF THE DESIGNER
published on 2021-12-28We are delighted to have been invited by Anne-Charlotte Baudequin, a young teacher to develop with her the olfactory design courses at the Superior Color Image Design Institute in Montauban.
She is a researcher-designer, doctoral student in Sensory Olfactory Design in the LARA-SEPPIA research laboratory, at the University of Jean Jaurès in Toulouse.
We intervene as a professional by presenting the profession of the perfumer and the new profession of olfactory manager.
Responding to the general theme “Colors & Smells” and having for subject “Plants of the perfumer, nuances of the designer”, the students will choose a perfume plant and soak up its scent and its colors in an olfactory design project.
They will first analyze this plant olfactory and colorful, then under all its other sensory v (texture, shape, sound, etc.), scientific (virtues, properties, extraction technique, etc.) and history…
They will experiment with the selected plant plastically (analyze, explore, collect, draw, etc.)
They will define 3 tracks of projects in olfactory design based on research and experiments using the perfume plant.
Then, selecting a single track, they will develop and concretize the subject.
They will present their final project orally accompanied by a slide show and a “staging” of their project (experimentation, intent note, prototype and / or 3D) as well as the production of a presentation poster. .
The students’ projects will be presented during the open days of the Color Image Design Superior Institute and during the colloquium “Création recherche en olfaction” in February.
