On September 15, 2024, an olfactory and sound conference entitled “Listen to the perfumes, breathe the music” took place as part of the 22nd edition of the niche perfume fair Pitti Fragranze.
Pierre Bénard Ségu, perfumer-creator, had the great pleasure of being accompanied live by the talented Veronica Granatiero, bel canto soprano, who was kind enough to bring her voice to her music, bottle and perfume project “Lilith, Sombre Heroïne”.
During this first meeting, they revealed the intimate links that exist between the language of the perfumer and that of the musician.
An olfactory and musical journey
The virtual connection between the singer and the perfumer had been created in 2023 for the creation of Pierre’s musical composition on which Véronica had carried her voice.
From Toulouse to Florence, Pierre transported perfume diffusion systems for this ephemeral moment.
This conference “Listening to perfumes, breathing music” had been presented in 2023 during several olfactory events “DE PARFUM & DE MUSIQUE” in connection with perfume and music within the cultural center of the Soupetard district in Toulouse.
This olfactory conference had transcribed in real time speech in French sign language.
Today, it is performed in two voices (organum), between two cultures, Italian and French, in order to invite participants to explore the links between perfume and music.
It was a unique event that offered an unforgettable olfactory and musical experience, an exceptional sensory experience.
An opportunity to discover and create connections between perfume and music that we wish to renew.
The voice of Lilith

Pierre presented us a multitude of connections between scent and sound. Pierre also introduced his latest creation, Lilith, a singularly evocative and sensually addictive, powerful tuberose elixir that beguiles and entices, Veronica interpretated this liquid invocation with a powerful intonation, a beautiful voice lost in an ecstasy that arose out of Lilith posed on her wrist, certainly a perfume of great power and a transportive voice to match. It was my honour to purchase a bottle of Lilith, the porcelain vessel a sensual as the essence within. It is a 21st century masterpiece.”
